That's a good point, how ridiculous would a black man look wearing a white man's beard and moustache or white man's hair? That's how ridiculous a black woman looks with that mop on her head.

Why another person would torture her hair with all those chemicals in order to straighten her hair is another issue that's beyond me. Just use a hotcomb!

Hot combs still exist? LOL.

Well, for those with really kinky hair, relaxing makes it manageable and look good.

@Msweet, nice locks those. I once considered locking mine but that was way before I went to campus. Then when I did, I realized that due to the nature of my profession that wouldn’t be viable. So I dropped the whole idea.

But if I was asked, I would say locking and going all natural is the best alternative. Relaxing does indeed take a toll on hair. Am thinking of going the weave way since I cant lock. Although I never weave, I think now I can summon all my courage and get me a nice weave and a professional hair dresser.

The aim of all that is to straighten the hair, most of african hair is very kinky and very difficult to even comb through...so relaxing it is among the most commonly used because it lasts longer...

Nice locks msweet. I used to have locks 3 years ago, had them for 2 years. Funniest thing is my locks totally refused to lie down. So I had this crazy kinda type of locks that almost stand on your head (People on my FB know what am talking about)kinda like D hughley style

Anyway I was actually planing to put locks back on and had been growing my hair for like 5 months before I got laid off. Now with a new job and some stability am tempted to put them back.

And yours really look neat. The website you put up there is it just for mamas

The website sisterlocs.com...u r right is for mamas only...but if you google dreadlocs, nappysm, nappy hair....you will get all this websites even some teaching you styles that you can use to loc your hair...so good luck keep me posted...
