Just got done with my copy and i must say the 9 year wait was worth every minute. JK Rowling delivers and more in her last book about Harry's 7th year [at hogwarts] and his quest to defeat the dark lord.

The book is packed with unexpected twists and yet at the same time it ties up alot (if not all) the loose ends left hanging in the previous 6 books. The most notable of these of course is that we get to know of Dumbledore's past - his family and all.

Other worthy mentions that are of importance to the last book (besides the main characters) are the Ollivander the wandmaker, Kreacher and Dobby the house-elves, Godric's Sword...and others that i cannot mention without giving off details.

Besides the deaths, the book is otherwise a fun and adventurous read and makes good closure to the series. JK actually gives an epilogue of what happens to the survivors a couple of years into the future....

Yes. I have read all the six books (in catalan) none in English and watched at least 4 DVD's of the first 4 books. Although I admit that the video's are not as original as the books.
