These are some of the books I have been reading in the past month or so. I hesitate to recommend books since one man's meat may be another man's poison....but what the heck.

Negro with a Hat: The Rise and Fall of Marcus Garvey by Collin Grant.
This is a book that will make you realise you knew NOTHING about Marcus Garvey and his 'Back to Africa' movement. Read it and enjoy. Watch out for his amazing quotes: Take the kinks out of your mind, instead of out of your hair! His analogy of 'crabs in a barrel', the real meaning of that famous song 'Brown girl in the Ring'....read on!

King Leopold's Ghost by Adam Hochschild. Ehe, for the gritty truth about the Scramble for Africa, the truth about the so-called 'explorers' and 'missionaries' to Africa akina Henry Morton Stanley and the truth about the atrocities committed in the Congo by the Belgian mornarchy....amazing amazing book.

Asterix and Tintin comics! Laughter is the best medicine and they have lotsa tongue-in-cheek humour.

What a Husband by Mwangi Ruheni. Seriously, can we try and buy books by Kenyan writers???
Hekaya za Abunuwasi has been reissued and is available for just Kshs. 230/-! Please, pass on the Grisham and pick up a Kenyan writer this month.

Genevieve, chasing destiny, not bad. Will finish the rest next summer. G.w.besides i also read wambaugh, john sandford, Dean Koontz, janet evanovich, jonathan kellerman, stephen king, memoirs of a geisha, the arabs;david lamb, sixteen titles in all this summer!!reading can be addictive better than the bar scene.
Thanks for the introduction to jerome.
