Well, i finally got round to buying and reading the book. Quite engaging, I must say I enjoyed reading it and soon I gotta watch the movie. I like to read books first before watching their respective movies, coz I find that movies water down nice stories.

thats a fact, books got more details as movie based on budget, length of movie[cost] there alot of cut and paste business{editor], making it attractive to audience etc.

I've watched the movie and loved it... so what happens in the end in the book?

Wow, you make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it! Just like God.

I must admit that I am very disappointed by the movie which I watched sometime back. I mean, I expected more and I discovered that i was even better off with the images i had developed in my mind whilst reading the book coz hey, the kimonos were prettier, the hairstyles more elaborate. lol! Seriously. A part of me even wants to regret having watched it but I am not one for regrets, tembea uone mengi.

I also thought it was pathetic for them to use some Chinese actors and actresses. Way back when the movie premiered, it was banned in China in opposition to this. Citizens even took to the streets over many issues of culture, history and the fact that good Chinese actors played certain roles in the movie. I mean it would have been wiser to delay production and find suitable Japanese girls to play geisha than using Chinese ones, but I guess its all about the money! and i doubt most Americans even noticed. To them, it must have been just another good movie.

Hey girls How about the Book, "Memories of Wanjiru Mwai, by Artur Magaryan"

(Magaryan - for your info - was the more thuggish looking of the two Russian hoodlums)
