Dear sweetheart,
Greetings to you my dear sweetie. Many days they have been, but trust me darling, there is no day that I do not think of you. I hope you and the kids are doing fine. I am doing well and have nothing much to complain about. However honey, I write this letter to inform you that I will not be coming home this year round.
You see sweetie, prison has become part of me. This is my home. I feel at peace here. Peace with myself and with the world. I know that this might sound as terrible news, but darling, prison was my destiny from the very beginning. The prison wardens treat us well here, they let us smoke a joint every Friday, watch movies every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night ;and furthermore can you believe that they even have a swimming pool area for the prisoners!? It is an amazing prison I tell you!
There is more good news hunny-bun; they have free education for us as well! Right now as I write this letter to you, I am in my second year of law school! Oh sweetie, life doesnt come better than this. Last week however the president granted me amnesty and told me I could go back home and make peace with society. Now that got me angry. Once they forcefully threw me out of my haven of peace, I immediately ran to the convenience store and stole money from the register and soon enough, I was back home! How glad I was darling! I cannot make it out in the world. My prison has become my world. I hope you understand honey pie.
Well darling, I have to sign off right about here. I should be heading down to the pool to catch my afternoon dip, after which launch with my fellow prisoners in the sauna suite as we catch a few pints and smokes. Who said that prison was all that bad? They must have had it all wrong. Darling, prison is just in the mind- this is not prison to me- but just pure heaven.
Bye love, I will continue to update you in my next letter, the next Christmas that comes by, as I usually do.
Pass all my love to the kids and until next Christmas, take care of yourself.
Yours faithfully still,
Gideon Moyeti.
