Saseni wasee,
Congrats to finishing the books Anjelika and if it makes u feel beta I suffered from Potter depression when I finished the books myself.
Now I can ask querries...What do u think happened to Luna 19 yrs later. To speak the truth I thot she would end up with Harry in the end.The writer doesn't mention her.
Tell me what u think y'all.

"In Rowling's first televised interview after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, she revealed a number of aspects of Luna's life after Hogwarts. Luna continues to be an eccentric individual and pursues a career that is "the wizarding equivalent" of a naturalist. She comes to terms with her father's sometimes false beliefs, but Rowling explains that her background has fostered in her a singular open-mindedness that allows her to make discoveries that more "reality"-oriented individuals might be unable to recognise.
In a later webchat-based interview, Rowling explained that Luna discovered many new species of animals and became quite famous for it, although she eventually was forced to admit that Crumple-Horned Snorkacks don't actually exist. She married a fellow naturalist, the grandson of Newt Scamander, named Rolf."

The potter movies -
12-09-2007, 05:37 AM
Hey Sinje! thanks. Yeah, it felt really bad after finishing. I felt empty, and in need of something fulfilling. so guess what? I havent attacked the webpages yet, but I always wanted to watch the potter movies bila bile of kwani why are they over-emphasizing the visual effects at the expense of the storyline.
I bought order of the phoenix jana. Am in the middle of watching Goblet of Fire. Very different, and a very rewarding excercise especially if you are like some of us who read the books tene. I am taking it slow. Then al hit the web.
Infinitepyro, you seem well into the potter stuff. Like I said, I havent read anything or tried to follow up on potter via other media, just the books, and now the movies, so my knowledge of it is still very limited to what the books say. But when I start, I will keep everyone updated with my views.
Luna was too eccentric for me. And you know Harry had attitude. Sinje, kwani you didnt notice how Ginny suddenly began being built into this chic who was like the most popular and all men wanted to snog her and all. and then, Rowling is very keen to create her as a strong independent woman, the kind who would stand side by side with Harry, the hero.
What struck me about the heroic character of Harry in the last book after Dumbledore dies, is the way ati he has to push aside his love for Ginny for the greater good, and ati the way Ginny understands. That is a very typical character build-up for male heroes! Kwani she didnt have another life of her own?
Sorry, I just get a bit irritated in the way writers sometimes contradict themselves. Ginny could not have been so popular in school, only to 'keep' herself for Harry in the end. to contrived! But then again, I have something against heroes perhaps, and that is just one of them.
Cinoman, you quiet. what's up? Busy?

Wow! I hadnt looked at it like that at all. What makes you say that book seven was written before the others?
but I must agree with you on one account. The whole removal of readers from the familiarity of Hogwarts and placement in the real and evil world is wrong. Plus, remember how Sidney Sheldon died in 1991, and his books kept being released? do you remember how 'different' the texture of the books were? I sincerely hope nobody helped her to write this one. i would die!!!
Also, my feel was Voldemort becomes 'human' in book seven, even political, nothing different from Mobutu or whichever other dictator.
Which makes that scene with Voldemort contrived! but lets hear you first

Here I am. Sorry, but yes, I have been a bit busy. The phenomenon of Harry Potter, hmmm. Where do I begin. I think that I should watch the movies now, because I can't remember a lot of the finer details from the first first books. As regards the way J.K Rowling is adding so much stuff after the books have been written, I think it's hogwash. She should have included it in the books and if she didn't, forget about it. I don't want to be mean, but it sounds like she wants some of fading limelight. Hmm, about Voldy. I think he died too easy for my liking. I really wanted the final fight to be much more bloody and sad with some tear-jerking deaths and Harry pronouncing the dreaded "Avada Kedavra" curse as he dramatically flies out a window or something. But it would have to do. I wasn't disappointed, though.

I cant explain it well but the mentions of previous bk highlights r overdone. Flashbaks n stuf frm previous bks eg (when harry was packin 2 leave Privet Drive) '...the photograph album Hagrid
had once given him...' '...he groped around in the bottom and,
after retrieving an old badge that flickered feebly between
SUPPORT CEDRIC DIGGORY and POTTER STINKS, a cracked
and worn–out Sneakoscope,...' '...Blast–Ended Skrewt...' etc
Then, all thru the series, Rowling Immortalised Voldemort in such a way tht by bk 6 it felt lyk he cudnt b touched, then suddenly he is killed by a simple Expelliarmus? Cudnt he hav dodged, blocked, disappeared, FLEW?!
I'm nt sayin bk 7 was written by sm1 else. I'm all 4 da theory dat she was possessed by a demon which helped her ryt 6 bks then cz o pressure she got saved n wrote bk 7, evn quotin frm the bible. What say u?

Am I the only one who thinks the 'present' Ginny intended to give Harry - before he went off on his quest and before they were oh-so-rudely interrupted by Ron - was a 'deflowering'?
