Default Pat Riley: Try This...    Show Printable Version  Print   Email this Page  Email

I may not have that much experience coaching the game but I am blessed with two keen eyes and a manically-critical morsel of a brain. Hence I propose these changes necessary to keying the Heat's victory over the Mavs. Shame on me, but I am known to be shameless at times, so here goes...Go Big on the Mavs! They seem to have perfected the defensive rotation necessary to pull off a zone-defense that actually STOPS Shaq. They do this due to the speed of their players in rotating and their subsequent threat of a fastbreak. Further, what allows them to neutralize Shaq is Nowitzki's game. He is able to switch over to double-team Shaq, which between him and Diop or Dampier, allows two legitimate 7-footers to harass the Big Aristotle. A similar scheme worked for the Spurs between David Robinson and Tim Duncan. To counter this, put Alonzo in as a power forward at the same time with Shaq and let 'Zo mark Dirk. Zo's defensive game will take Dirk out of his offensive rythm and hopefully also sap his energy, making him revert to the Dirk of old that never cared too much for D. Next, let Antoine Walker play in the paint. He has proven to be inept as a three-point threat and he truly is an undersized power forward with serious post moves. He loves to bang underneath so let him feast. Finally, let Dwyane be the point-guard. He loves to handle the rock, so let him have it. He is creative enough to run the offense and find the open man, not to mention he is a constant slash threat. Now move J-Will to the shooting guard position and let him shoot any open threes. He is a streak shooter and once he gets hot itsova. Meanwhile, Posey and Udonis can be rotated as needed to help out the starters. There you have it, the keys to your success. You can send me the check if you decide to use it. Ubarikiwe.

Default RE: Pat Riley: Try This...

There are 2 main problems with this....No bench, if you put Zo and shaq in at the same time. Shaq ni mzee. They might be able to get away with it for a little while but not enuff to make any significant difference.

The other prob is zo cant hold Dirk on the perimeter, he wil be torched for sure. Thats why Pat been switching udonis and posey on him coz they quicker.
Bottom line is this is a boring ass finals coz miami is basically out-manned. Miami is doomed!!
