this problem of conflicts to fight for land it has been around in this region for longtime.
i am tanzanian guy i remember when idd amin dada with his stupid mind and support of (libya)muamar gadafi army took our lands back in 1978,he took kagera region and larger part of lake victoria then president nyerere taught him a great lesson which he didnt forget for the rest of his life,we took back our land and lake victoria waters,idd amin killed our people when he took the land then nyerere destroyed the whole ugandan army and idd amin run away to sudan and uganda was ruled by milton obote who had respect to tanzanian.
then kenyan start another problem saying mount kilimanjaro was part of kenya territorry and try to took it but president nyerere told kenyan leaders that they will made a big mistake if they will took it,then kenyan leaders back down and forget the idea of grabing kilimanjaro although until now kenyan still dreaming of own mount kilimanjaro even though they dont have ability to take it.
Mount kilimanjaro was part of deutsch ost africa(tanganyika) the old name for tanzania the german colony since 1885 when the mapping of african continent by colonies occur.
even now kenya atract tourists from around the world by saying when you visit kenya you will have opportunity to view mount kilimanjaro but in order to climb it you must enter tanzania
then president hastings kamuzu banda try to claim the whole lake malawi and small part of our tanzanian land in southern west border with malawi around river songwe and livingstone mountains is in malawi territory then president nyerere told him if he will try move the boundaries he will face massive force like amin,the he back down and forget the issue of land grabing .
thats why we tanzanian dont like the east african federation because of this land issue and we fear that we can enter into land conflicts and never get development but get wars and fighting for lands which is not our cultures and we will loose our nice big lands which our ancestors left us because we know kenyan have lands problem and uganda also.
so who ever think the migingo island is in his territory he must took it back from the guy who grab it,try to copy tanzanian example.
another advice ,uganda and kenya must go to british monarcy and ask them who own migingo,i am sure the british will help you to solve your problem.
i dont want to see kenyan or ugandan come again to tanzania as refugees like during last time kenyan elections or ugandan longterm war.

You know its funny how our leaders reason coz jana i somad that Museveni was saying that Kenya should keep the land but the waters are theirs. Then i sat down n thought seriously which island exist without water anyway?

it can be possible for kenya to have island and water around it to be uganda territory,took example of cabinda which is angolan territory surrounded by congo lands.

sehemu ya kenya na uganda ilipewa kuwa koloni la britain na tanganyika ikapewa kuwa koloni la germany,sasa walipokuwa wakigawana maeneo kama utakuwa na kumbukumbu vizuri shuguli hiyo ilifanyika berlin.German ilikuwa inazo sehemu nzuri 3 strategically za kuweka bandari katika tanga,daressalaam na mtwara

Tanzania should not just sit and watch as Museveni destroys the EA spirit. we have alot to gain from a peaceful and united EA, without necessarily forming a federation. Personnally I also think the idea of EA as one political entity/country is a mirage.

If war breaks out between Kenya and UG, TZ will also bear the sufferings.
