The beauty of it is >that Brady no longer has to have a big day for the Rats to >record a W - The only stat that counts at the end of the day. >You lambs are stat-champions, how much silverware has that >gotten them...HMMMMMM! > inzy....you can talk about stat champs? the way you throw number about how many championships the COLTS have won is the past decade which happens to be a big fat.....heheheheheheh lets see how many times anyteam throws for 76 yds and still will win? I agree to an extent SOME stats are overated(manning comes to mind)..i'd take him over brady anyday though |

J&J weren't average by any means. They won games, but they also put up the kind of numbers in games that people noticed. 200+ yards were an average game for them while for Brady it's a monster day! And they were also perennial starters, at least Montana was, in the pro-bowl which Brady has not been.
Not knocking him or his record and abilities, but when you compare his numbers with Peyton, Daunte and McNabb, those guys are almost shoo-ins while he's a debatable candidate. Hey-Ho-Silver! \/ :-) |

Interesting but Peyton, Daunte and McNabb have how many champeensheeps? None!! Now unless they put up Marino's numbers they'll also be debatable. In any case, Coach Ditka - a hall of fame coach also complained about the HOF being about Stats rather than what the player did to the game. Brady is a solid QB, understands the game very well and will have a big day when he needs to. Otherwise, i'd rather have a 100-yd passer who's a proven winner rather than a 500-yd regular season champion with nothing to show in the playoffs.
Here's a scenario though...who would you want on your team in the superbowl when you're down by 3 with 2 to go? For me it's almost a no brainer.. |

The argument over who to go with and who not to? I'd go with Manning if atleast he had a ring, but Brady is a proven two time winner working with average talent at best. I'd take my chances there |

Ask any QB who would not want a defense that makes the play when it counts? Leftwich is becoming a master of the 2 min...had to throw this IN |

If the Hall was all about the titles, Theismann and Doug Williams would have been inducted too.
It's a mix of titles and numbers and there really isn't a specific formula for which carries more weight. Steve Young only has one, but he's going in based on his regular season exploits and records NOT titles. Marino is in because of the gawking numbers he put up over the course of his career. He only went to the show once and that was so far back, you were still a glimmer in your papa's eye. Down 3, 2 to go, I'll take Vick for no other reason than he's very under-rated when it comes to throws in the clutch. He'll keep the defense honest and if they goof...hello end zone...! :D Hey-Ho-Silver! \/ :-) |

I agree with you on the HOF credentials. It's a shame though that with such an onfield presence, comparrisons to Montana and even Unitas, sterling numbers include two winning streaks of 8 games or more within three years, more silverware than a punjabi restaurant and still not HOF calibre?
