Default KENYAN GRADS IN THE STATES HERE'S SPONSORS FOR Y'ALL - 07-01-2003, 04:34 PM

If you are planning to pursue graduate programs or postgrad,...DONOT PAY WITH YOUR OWN MONEY!!!!!!!!...check out available sponsors

http://cuinfo.cornell.edu/Student/GR...l?category=GEN
What most schools dont tell you is that they need minorities in some of the colleges that are predominantly white
http://mati.eas.asu.edu:8421/p1000/

project 1000 is a couple of Universities that are part of this program where they will waive your tuition if youare accepted into one of their graduate programs ...you can then apply for grants and the grants is yours to keep

Hope it helps :D

The prospects of getting that money looks so bleak. What i know is that the most funded majors in grad school in the US is what Kenyans hates doing in school,,,,Agricultural sciences! People in Kenya say thats' being shady!
Guys used to enjoy me in high school and colle coz of taking Agric. Now, i am doing my Ph.D and have never paid a single cent as my fees or insuarance!
If anyone there has Agronomy or plant science bachelors(Hons) and a good GRE score, let them Holla.
One has to be ready to work in the country! and in the Pacific Northwest where there are no nyeusi men in return for free education and a great future!

Holla

Hey Chokosh,
Please ignore the haters and do what you do - even "media people" need to eat at the end of the day. And as Brickhse said there is quite a bit of money to be had for attending grad school. But since it is 'free money' no one is going to be shouting about it from the rooftops, thats why we kenyans in the states have to do what we do best - hustle hard!

I will be attending grad school this fall and had to fight for my tuition waiver and stipend. Apart from the sites suggested, I would advise those interested to look into the schools (and professors) with programs specific to the kind of stuff they would like to get into, contact individuals, express your interest (good grades and EXCELLENT REFERENCES help too), and then find out about the money. It won't be easy, but as with everything else in life, persistence pays off. The money really is out there.

Peace.

@chokosh...the list has so many fields in it mainly sciences...but if you do have a slamming GPA,EXCELLLENT(caanot emphasis this enough) letters of recommendation..good essay and GRE to boost, you are in ....and there are also cases where the individual professors will pick you out of many if you pursue the people...that shows promise...we are all husslers ....hussle for that money!

Investing in Kenyan Real Estate

Since a large number of kenyans are returning home or are in the process of buy land to develop, we shall feature and research information on how best to tackle the kenyan real estate market and how best to capitalise on your investment while abroad.

This goes out to Bib ...ur mentality on Agric related subject is shorter than ur name. America and the whole world economy was built on Agriculture..food is the last industry standing before total economic chaos so I suggest you reevaluate ur comments its my bet ur not even thru with ur basic degree

thanks for your suggestion but I just looked at project1000 and only Americans are eligible for it. Lemmi quote:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Student Eligibility - 1) U.S. citizens or permanent residents of Mexican American, Puerto Rican, Cuban American or other Latin American ethnic heritage (regardless of address);
OR
2) African American or Native American (including U.S. Pacific Islander) students who are either residents of or are currently attending a university in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Western Texas (El Paso and the Tigua Indian Reservation) and the United States Virgin Islands.

1) means citizens or green card holders and 2) is crystal clear about the nationality of prosective candidates.

It's great that you are spreading word of these opportunities but please encourage others to read the material thorougly, especially the fine print
