Default OPT Running Out ...H-B Slow..HELP - 01-18-2003, 01:08 AM

Here's my dilema, if anyone has VALID advice, please help.
My OPT is running out in about a month. My current employer (a non-profit) has filed paper work for me. However, my former college is clinging to my diploma like a parki to a free pack of chips.... can I submit my transcript as proof of academic qualification for the job?? AND how do I get an extension so I don't have to stop working while they process my HB?

Average processing time of HB Visa is six month but they now have premium processing which takes approximately 14 days. To file thro premium processing you have to pay $1000.00.

Binti...

I'm not exactly sure if the situation is the same in the States, but you need to check with the relevant authorities where you stand...

Essentially, the validity of what you do is based on filing dates as opposed to when the deadline actually is. If you were legally working via OPT or whatever legal provision there is when your employer filed for your permit, it really doesn't matter how long it takes as long as the employer has received confirmation of receipt of your application.

It is generally accepted that if the prior conditions were legal, then you can continue working for the same employer and you will only need to panic if the application is declined, or the offer of the job ceases to exist. However, you also need to be very afraid if your leave to remain in the country is eexpiring with your OPT.

As for transcripts,...donno? Never really been a fan of scool, and I'm happy to let them cling on to any paper work...its safer with them...At least all I have to remember is where I went....

"But do I have to sout about it?"
