I'm not exactly sure on the circumstances of Eric Njomo's death, but it was sad. Also Mrs. Washika, who was my TA In 4South.
does anyone remember Rajabu the TA from Coasto ?
I heard Gitush went on to bcome the heady of Kilimani Jr. Academy lakini ati he was dismissed huko by the BOG.Maybe he went with his military attitude hukoz, chapain kidz like a nonsesne..lol...
by the way the rumor that Gitush was a CID, Was this ever confirmed or was it just like an urban Legend.
I must say, Tinde really kept that school in line.By the way, who does not remeber David Nasibu? He was a year ahead of me. I just to realize that he was a school Jock, only we didn't know it then.I mean the guy had serious atheltic capabilities, h could run, was good in soccer, chilez were into him , even older ones, and he was also good in books, thus=NO one liked him.I remember one time people were specifically playing one more rao in hopes that he'll be the one to drop the stick.and come to think of it, I can see why people did not like him coz ofhis jock character, however, I didn't see any thing bad with him or his attitude, he was actally quite chulled out........
Remember kina Nicholas Ndoto? that dude could run, what about KILU, Kariuki the messenger? Ms Chana, Timothy Oyomno and his bro sauce were just bullies !! that dude called Bandu was just a typical lunje!
secret pitch, I remember one day in sectert pitch Susan Maina's bro, Joel was taking a dump when he was chased by a dog-should have seen him running for his life with his shorts at his knees, was too funny.
remember speech day when the guest of honor was always some big shot who maybe had a kid in lavi?
what about sports day? reading day ? handwriting compe? and for all of yu who had the privillldge of clearing in Lavi, who doesn't remember Std 8 Leavers bash ? when guys blued with their tu secret admireres........lol....
Who ever Remebers that chic IVY ANYONGE? she had some seruous sqoks (squembes).......
more memories from lavi? then holla back!

then who remembers the scout leader called TUS ? That dude was just a rip off.he always came up with miscalleneous trips in order for us guys to get chumz from our paroz.
I remeber the dude always came every Wednesday...lol....TUS was a joke
also, who remebers that old white guy who came every thursday to teach french? and he lived in YMCA?
Speaking of YMCA, who remebers going for swimo there and being forced into the water by those clown instructors?
They'd tupa yu dep end by force and hand yu a long bamboo stick to hold on to, those dudes should have been sued (if that were stato )
who remebers the msaghas, simon and raphael, they were too deadly in swimo....

Hello All,

This is Gerald Sangudi, I went to Lavington Primary back in 1979-1981 (std 1-3). Are any of my classmates out there? I'm thinking of Juanita Bukenya, Gladys Waiyaki, Charles Nyamu, Victor Okhoya, Isfahan Yunis, and Andrew Masinde.

Also, how about Stella Masinde and Stella Gacheru?

And Mrs. Chakava?

Would enjoy hearing from any old friends; you can email me at sangudi@pacbell.net.

Sema,

I kumbuka Eric Githinji and Karanja tupaing Tinde's cane into a sewer, I think she had just seriously twangad them }(.
Some jamaas (no names!) almost caught in the tois with a porno mag during a staff meeting. Some guy flashed it, but wawuyo shikad guys sneaking back and I have never seen him unleashing on jamaas like that. Being ngotod by some Githaiga cop during assembly, then me towaing my anger a few years later on Joan Njiriani's bro, same ngoto (or slap?), same time, same place. Pole, man. Gitush chapaing us almost daily with another brown wooden cane ;(, never forget that guy (did anyone ever notice that guy came to chuo with some serious hangis). Mathu and Gakuya with their beards and gaffs, kwanza Mathu had another ka bounce, ama was it a limp? Bouting with my sis in std 4, sorry sis! Being caught playing soccer after hours on secret pitch by some cops, house meetings on wednesday mornings with chiles and jamas facing each other, Paul Ndungu being picked up, in a pickup, full of pig feed, man that thing was stinking and everybody made fun of him. Anyone out there...?!

I must admit that this thread has left me in stitches... Thanx to y'all ex-Lavingtonians (Lavel Academy - as we used to boast). It was quite an experience. Wanna holla to y'all Class of '89 - I think we were just the bomb! Remember the 'hot snaps' guys took after the walk on the slope of Big Pitch? Does anyone remember the Chevra of 2 bob?! That was just the bomb, well, second to the meat pies. I's in 8S (the middle one), and recall how we 'burst' a cracker in class during study lesson and there were teachers in 8N and 8E - the silence before the eruption of laughter was just the muthas. Good thing we managed to get away with it.

Then there were these bullies who used to make lower primo kids do laps around the block when the bell for 1:30 (after lunch) is rung. The inter-class football contests were another thing, with the girls cheering from the sidelines/slope of Big Pitch and the 'boys' sweating it out to show who's macho. I remember how Mrs. Okoth caned the whole class and got so frustrated coz we just laughing. Made sure she told on us to Mrs.
Njomo (our class teacher then) who gave us a reinforcement rao, some shed a tear or two after that.

As for Tinde, mob luv! She has made most of us what we are today. I prided myself of being one of the few to leave without being caned by her. Everything was going well until 3rd term when I was called (only chic and abt 5 jamaas) to go to her office - to collect our uncovered Business Education text books that she'd kept for a whole yr - man, I still wince when I recall the pain of that cane. I had to hold my hand under running water from the katap that used to be by the assembly hall.

The video games... remember Dandy Cowboy and Puppy Love? And those comic/picture books from Lavi Bookshop called Blue Jeans, then the
craze of Sweet Dreams and Sweet Valley Highs... Btw, the Std 2 Phillipino was called Mrs. Paule (sp). Ms. Chana was just the one. 2N was the Std 2 place to be. She'd bring her tois cake on her birthday. As for maziwa ya Nyayo.... I cant disclose how many packets of milk I'd carry home with me, only say that my bag on those days was more full of milk than books. Do they still have radio lessons?! Gitundu wld stroll into class and announce that we'd be having an 'Agrikasha' radio lesson.

May I close this session by remembering how Andrew Wandera (Rally Gums guru in 3N) broke the window in 6E with his kisogo! I recall he was given the title for having the hardest head....

Kipitril! Keep the fire burning.

Redemo
