I once watched this film called "flames of Thika tree" and in it there was this white colonial "msabu" woman who loved her dog dearly, but one day her beloved dog was eaten by a leopard and you can imagine pandemonium this caused, triggering frantic search for that leopard. The poor woman sobbed and sobbed, cursed Kenya and swore to leave the bloody stupid country. Good film though about colonial Kenya set in Thika.

Dear, change that to "
The Flame Trees of Thika." I should know— I read the book that the film is based on when I was in form one— in a school(littered with Flame Trees),somewhere in Thika.
