I'm over 18 and I play video games. It's just a way of killing time and relieving stress. People watch TV, movies, surf online, listen to music etc for the same reasons....

As for the original question, I say the PS3. The xbox 360 is ok, but do not buy a wii. Those things get boring really fast.
