my tribe is my cultural and spiritual affiliation as a kenyan..but I would be mistaken to also add politics as a facet of my ethnicity. This is where we go wrong....my political affiliation is owed to something greater than just my tribe it is owed to the nation and people of Kenya..
The writer also addresses this idea that we revel in mediocrity..anyone who aspires for greater heights is deemed presumptious and egotistical. So like school kids who hide their intelligence so that they may not be called geeks, we hide our aspirations from each other and in so doing cripple our chances of collective success.....
