I receiced a notification that I won U.S. green card visa lottery. I am seeking advice on how to go about this issue. I am currently on an F1 visa and I dont want to use consular processing at all. The only thing holding me back is I don't know how reliable the adjustment of status method is. As a student, I had EAD for economic hardship for 1 year. Later, I also had one year of OPT. However, I have heard that you could be at risk even if OPT is not exactly in you degree field. I know people who have gone through the process will say there is nothing to worry about, but I also don't want to be greedy and rush to destroy my life. I have heard of people being denied but I don't know the specifics of their cases. So, have you ever been through this process? What do you know about the adjustment of status processes? What do you know about employment issues?
Thanks for your contribution.
