there are two creation accounts, chapter one and chapter two. chapter one gives the analytical chronology of the creation. the summary of what happened which day.
on chapter two, the details of what happened on the sixth day is now given. i guess its coz God really needed to explain to man how exactly he created him, and how important man is. read and re-read Gen 2:4-9. that explains it all.
