These are special circumstances under which a government involving all the major and small political parties became part of the government.

The National accord is conspicuously mute on the issue of an opposition perhaps because it takes into consideration the circumstances under which the government was formed. The country was polarized and leaving a loophole for an opposition would not have help the already worse situation. The National accord was a temporary agreement reach in order stay they suffering that Kenyans were undergoing until a proper constitution was acheived. It is my wide expectations that this will then lay the ground for a for fresh after 5 years if not sooner.

Now this Country is a democracy, and opposition is healthy even in an intra-party set-up. I do believe that formation of an Grand Opposition just for the sake of checking on government is pure balderdash. One can still tell the government from the back benches. The days when KANU used to punish disapproving opinions are long gone. Raila being a product of the opposition best knows that indeed an opposition is important in thriving democracy, but also realizes as a statesman that these are not normal times thus it impossible to operate things in the traditional pattern where an oppositions exists to churn out is constitutional duties. He has not once, said that he wishes not be opposed, but says that the National accord will be undermined. It is therefore sad that missed call cannot understand these simple things.

In my view if the marriage between ODM and PNU will not work then let us got fresh elections.
u have to understand that the reason raila is against the grand opposition is not coz of its legal or constitutional technicalities, but simply because "... they are leaving us whereas we need a strong odm in the house ..". why allow such selfishness to eat him up!
