Kuongea ukweli, I used to carry condoms some years ago (I forget) , infact the last full, unused pack, I don't know who stole it from my apartment. I have always wanted to know who it was! Kitambo when I was sexually active/suggestive, I'd always have one in every clutch purse (lol) and like you, the "half of them were borrowed by friends, some even knocking on my door at midnite (wafrica wana mambo) It was necessary, and leaving home without them or just being at home without them was like an old lady leaving her dentures at home. (sina dentures wala)
Nowdays, I don't carry them anymore, coz I am 100% sure I'm not going to be having sex or even acompanying any man anywhere, neither do I get hopelessly drunk or go to wild parties, I also don't let men visit my place unless its a school mate, after thorougly confirming their need to visit (school related) . Carrying condoms to me would be like an amputee buying shoes... a waste. I could carry them but seeing as I always bought the most expensive condoms available.. every time I want to buy some, I convince myself that they will just go to waste and find a better way to use the money like buy a top on sale
A few years ago on mashada, we had some discussion about whether carrying condoms is suggestive of ones intentions or possibilities of having sex, or just being cautious. I think that every lady should buy and carry a 12 pack. I live in such a quiet environment, and a while back when I had decided to practice abstinence, not carrying condoms was just a short test to prove my committment to my cause. After I was sure I would not be having sex, I was planning on carrying them again, but honestly I either forgot or postponed or over looked the idea.
However when I get on that plane to go back home, I think I'll even strap some on the inside of my under wear and stash some in my panty hose.. just incase
