In many ways, God is a social construct, and society constructs him/her to be complex, there has been gods who have been understood, because those societies did not leave an "all awed" gap.
But modern God/gods can not be understood, because we want to believe that s/he cannot be fathomed, even though everything s/he does is understandable as an action and one can derive an understanding from any individuals action even a God/god.
Thousands of years of somebodys actions and yet you claim you cannot understand, actually nothing new happens with God especially in the last 2000 yrs, personally I would be confident to say I may understand him/her. s/he is not an enigma to me as such
