As far as HIV/AIDS is concerned, it still remains a problem. Have you had a close relative who is a victim? Not only is hard to come out public, but its extremely hard to talk to some close relatives. I think it will take loads of years before we really understand it.
When it comes to the church where the only way of looking at it is from sexual angle, it becomes super complicated.
Very sad but one day we will get there.

We have moved some steps forward coz some churches do offer sessions on HIV awareness; some people have come out during funerals and declared their families died of HIV - but yes, we are still miles and years to overcome the stigma totally.
Church being the religious and social gathering it is should serve as a good entry point to the community to act on the epidemic - but we will need first to deal with the hypocrisy and contradictions.
