The whole fullness of God dwelt in him making him like God.If you your were to be sent by a king for a mission and given full king honor and powers to do your mission then you will be considered a king and if your relationship with the king who sent you is so rich in trust and faithfulness then the more you tend towards being same simply because you will be him to your subjects.
and refering to the scriptures you have quoted,when James said God cannot be tempted with evil it confirmed what Jesus went through in the wilderness.The temptation by the evil one did not succeed,so he was never tempted to do those evil.e.g if you went to the beach and a half naked woman tempts you by asking you to visit her tent at night,if you even debate in your mind about going you have already been tempted,but if you tell her point blank that it is written though shall not fornicate then you have not been tempted.Likewise thats what the verse meant.
