Type R - you are right in saying that women have been treated badly over the years all over the world. However, Islam, especially in countries like Saudi
Arabia, do go too far. There is absolutely no reason why in the year 2007, any woman should be subjected to what muslim women are subjected to in the deeply Islamic cultures.
When my sisters and I were growing up, my parents told us that we could marry men from anywhere in this world, so long as they were not muslim. Now I know why they told us that.

The books "The Caged Virgin" and "The Infidel" by Ayaan Hirsi Ali are real eye openers into the world of women and Islam.

I, however, disagree that Islam is satanic.
