But to answer your question, the bible permit divorce only in the case of marital infidelity (cheating).

I think that sometimes a believer should put aside his Holy Book, ignore the idiotic dogma inside it, and use his brain to act rationally.

E.g. the Bible says that you should only divorce your husband if he cheats on you. Therefore, if your husband NEVER EVER cheats on you, but he beats you, doesn't support you financially, beats your children, is a bank robber on the side, runs a child prostitution ring and a child pornography website, was actively involved in the Rwandan and Darfur genocides, is emotionally abusive, etc, then as a good Christian wife you are not allowed to divorce him. If all these evils finally catch up with him and he gets sentenced to life without parole, then as a good Christian wife, you're meant to wait until the day he dies in jail before you move on to somebody else. If he lives in jail for the next 76 years, then as a good Christian wife you are meant to deny yourself the love of another man, the joys of sex, the chance to give birth to children, the natural cycle of building a relationship, family and future with someone you love, etc. In order to make god happy and to get his blessings, the good Christian wife will wait alone, lonely, bila sex, love, etc, until that deadbeat dies in 2081 before she can go back "on the market". She will suffer all these years not for something she did, but for something another person did. And all this time, other Christians are meant to admire her as a symbol of what "unshaking" Christian faith is.

WTF? How can you be so blinded by your religion that you completely put aside all common sense and subscribe to such ludicrous dogma? I don't believe that a god who is all good can want people to suffer like that forever!

One great benefit of being an atheist is your mind is totally emancipated from these stupid irrational religious beliefs that cause so much pain and suffering to so many innocent people, especially women!
