Just this month

March 27 (Compass) – A mob of some 200 Muslim vigilantes forced Christians in Bogor, West Java, to abandon their church service on Sunday, The Jakarta Post reported today. Islamic groups have attacked and forcibly closed at least 60 churches in West Java over the past two and a half years, citing a lack of permits.

March 22 (Compass) – Compass has confirmed the arrest of two other Afghan Christians. Another Afghan convert to Christianity was beaten severely outside his home by a group of six men, who finally knocked him unconscious with a hard blow to his temple. He woke up in the hospital two hours later.

March 21 (Compass) – A local council in West Java has warned several congregations in the Rancaekek Kencana housing complex in Bandung to abandon their gnomadich cell group system, which allows limited numbers of Christians to meet together in private homes.

March 16 (Compass) – A Turkish Muslim shouting insults against Christianity pulled a long butcher knife on two clergy and a group of teenagers last Saturday evening (March 11) at a Latin Catholic church in Mersin, threatening them and their families

March 6 (Compass) – Before the recent eruption of anger over Danish cartoons of Muhammad, Muslim militants last Christmas Eve invaded the family home of a Christian student and assaulted her sister. Hannatu Haruna Alkali, who had been expelled from a university in Bauchi for allegedly blaspheming the prophet of Islam, said five extremists broke into the family home in Gombe town looking for her. Finding only her older sister, Jemima, at home, they beat and raped her after one persuaded the others not to kill her. It was the second time Muslim extremists had attacked the family in their home.
