RE: Secular music -

Think of secular music as a form of story-telling and poetry. There are a lot of poets and story-tellers out there.
I like music that is uplifting, danceable and soothing. I have a song for every ocassion. For instance I penda music by Tracy Chapman cos she's poetically sentimental. Bob Marley is another favorite cos he was very spiritual. He was also a griot and he reported things he saw in Trenchtown one of the poorest places in Jamaica, even today. I have love song favorites and freaky song favorites as well..Besides, the Bible has love songs also.. What do u call the Song of Solomon? I'll give an example:
Song of Solomon 4:5
Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.
It is human nature to be freaky, otherwise there'd be no children born today. One of my anthropology professor says that we all products of an accidents cos we are so freaky that we don't get time for Coitus interruptus.
Anyway, I still have my Gospel favorites: Kirk Franklin and Donnie McClurkin. Some Gospel music I avoid cos it can sound downright depressing as though mtu anaomboleza.
I think striking a balance isn't so difficult.
