JB and Doc,you two really sent me giggling all over the place with the stories of the poor pastors. I however wish to add on to your worthwhile points.

Sexual immorality is progressing at an alarming rate, and part of this can be attributed to immodest fashions. Since women are the ones who mostly idolize fashion allow me to say that Satan has virtually destroyed that inherent modesty with which God endowed women. Women have thrown off moral restraints including modest clothing under current fashion trends. Nudity and provocative dress are the accepted norm. But As I was doing a small assignment on this issue I actually came across a statement worth noting here.

In this statement I saw Satan sitting at the apex of arrogance. In pp 31,32 of Crews Mary Quant, the originator of mini skirts actually asserted boldly in her own words, “MINICLOTHES ARE SYMBOLIC OF THOSE GIRLS WHO WANT TO SEDUCE MAN.” By this statement we can see that as a woman’s dress inches above the knees, it becomes a temptation for men. A Christina woman should not, nay, I say must not share in this kind of enticement.

There is also the subject of more fashions that contribute to the downward trend of morals. Unisex clothing is one such category. Unisex dress stores, boutiques, and hair salons readily offer unisex clothes and hairstyles for both men and women. More often than not this clothes and hairstyles are so similar that one can barely differentiate between two sexes walking on the sidewalk. There are dangers to this kind of trend. The bible firmly condemns sodomy as an abomination. Canaan the promised land for the Children of Israel practiced sodomy, God instructed them (Israelites) about how to dress warning them against practices which could lure them into sin. Deut 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. This was also a safeguard for their families. In today’s world sodomy had gained enormous applause especially from the media asserting how proudly the is has come out the closet to demand right. Transvestitism (opposite genders dressing each other’s likes) is being tolerated. Costumes that contain so much that is borrowed from the other sex are readily available.

Unisexism has gained popularity due to another reason. It promotes equality between men and women. In “Historic Costume,” Katherine Lester wrote, “ This trend termed unisex went with the move towards sexual and economic equality of men and women and with the blurring of the traditional male and female roles in society. Men and women today seek fulfillment by assuming roles that God never intended for them. The result of this rebellion is gender confusion which unisex fashion has contributed.

God designed that there should be a plain distinction between men’s and women’s dress. The same dress worn by both sexes would actually cause confusion. It is Satan with his confederacy of evil that attempts to pervert and destroy the natural gender roles that God created.
