Default Speaking in tongues - 05-11-2005, 12:06 PM

It sure does exist but the manner in which some people go about speaking it leave me wondering. They utter words that even God himslef would not know. According to the book of Acts 2:4 The tongues that spoken there were 'other tongues,' not 'unknown tongues' or 'ecstatic tongues.' Except when referring to the actual physical organ, the word 'tongue' in the New Testament always refers to a language. In this case, the tongues are the actual languages of the different nations listed in Acts 2:9-11, as made obvious in the context. I feel that what I do hear these days and especially from these fanatical churches other of which have name difficult to pronounce(names that almost those starngue tongues they utter). I think it high time peopel stopped just lsitening to some preachers who lead their souls to eternal pedition and start reading from ther books. A friend of mine who happend to be a member in one of these churches put up a big argument with me over it before I show her what is written in that book she was carrying. Mark you she was inviting me to go and witness the what she called the manisfestation of the Holy Spirit. Of course I turned her down.

I was once there and when they laid hands on me it was a diffrent case. My ohh my! I did not go down as expected and they figured I needed more than one hand I had to give in to save my head from continous pounding and as I did that I only wished I had accompanied myslef with an umbrellah. Imagine more than three mouths sprinkling the saliva that we only see at the dinner table whenever there is rare delicacy arranged.People should sober up and not just following every thing that comes in the name of God. We have been warned several times in the bible of these heinous people.

Does anybody have a different opinion on this.
