SAVOUR DECEIT

In your newspaper on 23 March 2005, the advert read:
DECEIT HAS ITS BRIGHT SIDE

RESPONSE
The advertisements are as repulsive as they are disgusting.
They imply that you are deliberately flashing immoral and evil programs and you have no qualms admitting that to your viewers. At least you are being honest (about dishonesty.)
You seem to be of the view that your readers and viewers are a dirty minded and immoral lot ready to receive whatever garbage you throw at them.
You have succumbed to the pressure of improving your bottomline by violating the rules of social responsibility and ethical conduct.
The offensive adverts and the series fly in the face of all the worthy campaigns against HIV/AIDS pandemic.
We therefore demand that:
You stop forthwith running the offensive advertisements and withdraw the immoral series.
You apologize to the readers and viewers for your offensive advertisements.
You try to be sensitive to your readers and viewers feelings and moral standing.
