As I was thinking about mashada and what to do next. I picked up my Bible and opened the book of Acts chapter 27:27-44. It is the story of Paul and the shipwreck. In the story, the ship was moving towards land and the sailors feared that the boat would run aground .Reading the passage I could not help but relate the story to Mashada as the ship with all kinds of passengers on board slowly drifting to the shoreline.
As with the story in the Bible believers and none, believers had traveled in the ship going to the same destination but for different reasons. For days, there was constant suspense (verse 33) and no food had been eaten when Paul argued the passengers to eat, because they needed food to live. All this happened at night and so they could not tell what the shoreline was like. Having listened to Paul, they ate and when daylight came, they realized that they were in a bay that had a sandy beach on which they could run the ship aground and get to safety.
Here to in Mashada as we drift toward the shore we Christians should be like Paul pleading and asking our fellow shipmates to eat the bread of life (bible) and to remain calm as we drift in darkness waiting for daybreak. It was also interesting to note that Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers as they waited that “unless all the men stayed on the ship (verses30-32) then none of the rest in the ship would be saved”. As I sat here considering jumping from mashada I realized that none of us would be safe if we do not stick in the ship until the time comes for us to all get out. Giving guidance and advice to the Mashada crew before we get to the shore.
Hear the sound
We shall speak to the Nations
In the name of JESUS
We shall shout to the corners of the earth
That Christ is King
Fall down on your knees
Bow down
Do not give up
Revival is coming
In the name of JESUS
The people are free.
