Default RE: Your God is too small - 01-28-2005, 05:42 AM

@satjas

>Thank God and this will directly affect how you live.
>Think about God, thank God and try to be like >God....what is wrong in trying to be Good??

Nothing wrong in trying to be good but trying to be God is a totally different ballgame.

PS. I meant have a thinking of God that is pro-active i.e a thinking that affects ones life.

>>The sad thing is that too many people have too small a
>>concept of God, an inadequate view of God.

>example....one small concept about God is that God >punishes people for sin. That is an inadequate view >about God for God cannot create something just to punish >it. It does not happen. God is too full of love to raise >a hand.

God is full of love BUT he is also a Just God. Bwana Satjas, I too love my kids and because I love them I have to punish/discipline them ones in a while. Otherwise they will end up as spoiled brats unfit to mix with society.

>>God has given us the Bible to reveal to us concerning his nature and character. God reveals to us how we can know Him.
>
>Here is another misconception....have you ever thought that
>other groups are saying the same thing about the Kooran, the
>Torah, the Bhagvan-Gita, the other versions of the Bible?

The point is that when you look at how all the people describe God you will realise that they worship totally different deities.

>Saying the Bible is the first book is the oldest trick
>in the >book...literally. God reveals Himself to us >through our honest >feelings, our innnermost feelings,
>the ones you cannot lie to >yourself about.

The human heart is desparately evil and sometimes can shock you what it can desire or do. 'Self-awareness' is just a way to escape reality.

>God is everything....
Little by little I am starting to understand your god.

My God has a name and he knows me and everything about me. My God is much greater than his creation.

>A living thing never remains the same every moment, it >changes every second, a change will always involve a
>force.

Are you taking about a created thing or the creator. God is not man and therefore can not be decribed as a man. You remind me the story of the wise barnacle that was sitting down the bottom of the ocean attached to his rock. One day in a strange way he got a glimpse of what man was like. He then explained to his fellow barnacles that 'man had no shell, man is not attached to a rock, and man is not surrounded by water'. The other barnacles then rationalized that since man had no shell, he must be a shapeless jelly. Since he is not attached to a rock, obviously he has no location. Since he is not surrounded by water, he did not eat.
My point is limited to a finite 3D naturalistic worldview, we will have an extrapolated extremely limited waped concept of God. Man can not know what God is like unless God chooses to personally revela himself. We can be now be thankful for Jesus and the Bible.

>And any force is capable of expressing love.

Is this for real.

>OOOPS!!! A thing that is living always changes....God is not
>Dead therefore God changes...God's ideas may not change but
>God certainly does.

I the Lord do not change Mal 3:6

>Anything with a great power which is what omnnipotent means is
>capable of anything.... even sending another 'prophet'?? or
>communicating with you on this computer? you may be talking to
>God for all you know!!!! Do you doubt that???

My friend, from the day I realised that I was a Sinner and I gave my life to God through Jesus Christ, He has been a good father. I know the voice of the spheherd.

>One cannot be EVERYWHERE and yet be detached from being
>EVERYWHERE....that is simply not possible.....perhaps this is
>a case of role-reversal because man feels detached from what
>man creates, God doesn't since God is everywhere.

Your God is too small. Atleast you can acknowlegde that my God and yours are different then.

>God, love, truth, and freedom are all interchangeable
>words..try it practically in your daily life. if you don't try
>you will never know.

1+1=2 is True. But neither is 1 or 2 God.

>Ok now this is where you cock-up!!! Since when was love
>demonstrated through wrath???
Guess you forgot to read the 'how much more' part

>we are not sinners...we have simply forgotten Who We
>Are........which is that We Are One.

Is this for real?

PS. Have a nice February. I am going back to kenya for holidays and therefore I will be extremely rare in mashada.
