RE: Your God is too small -

hey TM.
This is an important topic you have brought up.....there are very many misconceptions about God, some of which you have held true for years and will find it extremely difficult to accept to change. I will be gentle in my explanations.
>The greatest thinking anyone could do is to think about God,
>i.e. the true nature and Character of God. What you think
>about God will directly affect how you live.
Instead let us try to replace the 'I' with an 'A' and say thank and not think.....a thought only remains that unless an action takes place. You can know you are good but will only experience good when you perform an act of goodness. Thank God and this will directly affect how you live. Think about God, thank God and try to be like God....what is wrong in trying to be Good??
>The sad thing is
>that too many people have too small a concept of God, an
>inadequate view of God.
I only wish sometimes my dear TM that you could fully understand exactly what you write. Let me give you an example....one small concept about God is that God punishes people for sin. That is an inadequate view about God for God cannot create something just to punish it. It does not happen. God is too full of love to raise a hand.
>God has given us the Bible to reveal to us concerning his
>nature and character. God reveals to us how we can know Him.
Here is another misconception....have you ever thought that other groups are saying the same thing about the Kooran, the Torah, the Bhagvan-Gita, the other versions of the Bible? Saying the Bible is the first book is the oldest trick in the book...literally. God reveals Himself to us through our honest feelings, our innnermost feelings, the ones you cannot lie to yourself about. If you listen to your feelings and act on those you will come closer to awareness.....self awareness.
>God is spirit- with a life and personality
God is everything....the spirit and the hard rock all come from the same stuff that Is All There Is, God. The basic composition is all the same....atoms, electrons, neutrons. They only resonate at different frequencies.
>God is living and not merely an impersonal force. Only a
>personality can love.
A living thing never remains the same every moment, it changes every second, a change will always involve a force. And any force is capable of expressing love.
>God is self-existent- He is unique from man and therefore can
>not be described/labelled the way you would a man.
God is self existent but man is unique from God in that man does not realize that he is part of the God that created him/her/everything. God knows everything is part of God.
>God is immutable- He does not change.
OOOPS!!! A thing that is living always changes....God is not Dead therefore God changes...God's ideas may not change but God certainly does.
>God is Omnipotent
Anything with a great power which is what omnnipotent means is capable of anything.... even sending another 'prophet'?? or communicating with you on this computer? you may be talking to God for all you know!!!! Do you doubt that???
>God is Ominipresent
>God is Omniscient
Something that is all knowing and present everywhere does not need to test anyone for It already knows the answers.....and for It to be everywhere means we are also part of It.
>God is Transcendent- He is detached from all His creation as
>an independent, self-existing being. God is actively concerned
>and involved with His creation.
One cannot be EVERYWHERE and yet be detached from being EVERYWHERE....that is simply not possible.....perhaps this is a case of role-reversal because man feels detached from what man creates, God doesn't since God is everywhere.
>God is Sovereign.
>God is Holy
I can agree with these.
>God is Love
>God is Truth.
God, love, truth, and freedom are all interchangeable words..try it practically in your daily life. if you don't try you will never know.
>But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we
>were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been
>justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from
>God's wrath through him!
Ok now this is where you cock-up!!! Since when was love demonstrated through wrath???
we are not sinners...we have simply forgotten Who We Are........which is that We Are One.
Your last statement makes a mockery of all you've written above. But perhaps you may not realize this until you get that log out of your eye!!!! Have fun trying!!!
-the paradigm shifter.....God's friend.
The soul is that which beholds beauty even when the mind denies it.
