Default KENYA WILL NOT DEVELOPE WITH GENDER SEGREGATION - 07-29-2002, 11:04 AM

If the current situation of Men domination of women continues in Kenya, then the country should not expect to develop beyond how it is.

Kenya has done little to promote women intergration in both pre-colonial and post-colonial period..This has been revealed by the domination of the existing job vacancies by men including the office secretaries. We have grown to assume that womens´ duties are domestic and therefore have not assisted them to secure the public employment job opportunities. I find women very much contributive in developed countries than in the third world generally...Majority of sectors managed by women in developed countries does well as much as men. This means that Kenya adopts and adheres to the system in the developed world of gender equality, then Kenya would move more steps ahead of what it is..

Men have gone ahead to frustate women even domestically since the current constitution does not provide sufficient penalty to domestic violence which in most cases are caused by men.."nimeamua kutoboa ukweli, ingawa mimi ni mwanamme"I have resolved to be truthful even though I am a man.

A challenge to Kenyan women, you have never shown a clear discontentment of your situation in Africa(Kenya in this case). Most of the women in Kenya have believed that it´s men who have to do all that concerns pen and paper, not taking example of the few Kenyan women that have equally come up in nation building with men like Lady Grace Ogot, Wangari Mathai,Joel Mbogo( the one who drove away Kibaki to Othaya from his motherland), Charity Ngilu and her excelency lady Joyce Aluoch and others that I can´t mention due to the limited space..

I would also like to take this chance to ask men of good heart to encourage women with Education and Specialization of carreers for the benefit of Kenyas´ intergration and thus fair competition with the rest of the world.

Kenya lugs behind in matters concerning internal developement for one of the reasons being gender discrimination....
