 I read this one at the begining of the summer. I would summerize it as an analysis of the natural biases that we as humans have and how the affect out ability to make logical decision. The author is a former trader who has made his fortune by basically betting ont he impossible, or what others consider impossible but he through a thorough mastery of probability considers quite probable. He does this by buying options on things that other thing will never happen. Since the probability of the even the option is based on it highly improbable to the seller he sells it for cheap. Sure enough many of the options that he buys end up expiring and so he is constantly loosing small amounts of money. But... when he does win, its a REALLY big win and that how he comes out on top. He is a very well read individual and does a pretty good job of explaining some pretty heft statistics and probability stuff. Its definitely a book that will get you to rethink some of your basic assumptions about the nature of things. But be ware of the authors tendency to rumble on about how brilliant he is and how everyone he meets turns turns out to be an idiot and a disappointment.

I have this theory: Books are like food.
You see, there’s the stuff that’s good for you, the stuff that helps you grow, some have certain types of vitamins to help you fend off diseases and sickness, others are like junkfood, etc…
When I travel, I tend to read a lot of “junkfood” books. Thrillers, fantasy, sci-fi - you know the type. It’s kind of like grabbing a candy as a snack, since you know it’ll be good and keep you going. Of course, you can take a bad analogy to far, so I’ll stop here.
By the way, once in a while you find some gems. Interesting books that I’ve read in the last couple weeks include, all of which I recommend:
The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks
This is rather interesting, no one knows who the real author is - he “lives off the grid”. It’s an Orwellian story, much like a modern day 1984. Very compelling ideas, even if rather fantastic in nature. I wouldn’t suggest any ludites or conspiracy fanatics read it.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Odd. That’s all I have to say. Very well written and interesting, but odd… It’s the story about the decline and clash of the “old gods” brought over to America by immigrants and the rise of the new “tech/city gods” of the modern world.

Thank You for Arguing by Jay Heinrichs
Not junk food, but a useful book on the art of persuasion. A lot of good tips and thoughts on what to do to ensure that your ideas get agreed upon or “win the day”, whether at home, work, school or presenting.

Sigh... I feel for the honest Kenyan businessperson... Here is an example of how they get screwed on a regular basis! Shouldn't there be a legal "Supreme Body" that can sort out such administrative matters? Why should the poor taxpayer get caught up with the antics of such idiots? I have written before on how the Government of Kenya (GOK) screws (I want to use another 5-letter word but I want to kee the blog G-rated) the Kenyan consumer. Unfortunately, the (dumb) consumer blames the wrong party coz the GOK puts a populist spin to it... GOK direct taxes constitute almost 35% of the cost of petrol at the pump. After adding other local & national taxes (payroll, land rates, unrecoverable VAT, etc) the amount is closer to 50%... So when you curse the Oil Companies for charging 80/- per litre for petrol, the GOK (& local municipalities) have their 40/- hidden right in there. Using the 40/-, the Oil Marketers have to import the Oil/Oil products, transport it to the stations, pay its staff, pay interest before making any profit. Did you know that Petrol Stations in Kenya are NOT allowed to breakdown their charges to you i.e. they can't show what part of that 80/- is paid as direct taxes even though this is an easy feat/calculation using today's technology. Why you ask? Because the GOK wants to HIDE their thievery! They expect citizens to resist/protest these taxes IF the citizens knew about them. Instead they let the Oil Marketers be the "bad" guys while some idiot called the Energy Minister lambasts Oil marketers for rising fuel prices while the GOK doesn't even refund (or pay interest on) VAT & Duties to the Oil Marketers...! And most of us (the almost dumb) citizens can't see beyond our noses... (Erm, except me & some others) So I want to bring this to your attention... please, please, please provide me with additional hard data that I can post here. Few of the Oil Marketers are willing to go on record about this issue since they fear a backlash. Shell(K) experienced this when they played hardball in 2006... they paid for it when the issue of BP's takeover came into play in 2007. Shell had to sell some stations to NOCK (a GOK entity) at a discount for standing up to the GOK's excesses. KPC & KPRL's poor management has led to substantial loss of business for Kenyan Oil Marketers who export to other African markets. What a pity... since Kenyan jobs are at stake...

It is a foregone conclusion (unless something drastic happens) that the KenRe OFS (not IPO folks... even if the Business Daily calls it that but Business Journalism in Kenya is a whole new animal...) will be successful... Nevertheless, the deception by the GOK is not a good sign of things to come... The GOK knew that Mumias 1H 2006-7 was relatively poor but they hid that crucial information until AFTER the OFS was over. The share price plunged to around 25/- in the aftermath. So there is a forensic report that is being "hidden" from the public... WHY? Kimunya claims that a copy was given to the Transaction Advisers but we are buying the shares. Shouldn't we know about the shenanigans? From the Business Daily 19 July 2007: Mr Kimunya, however, maintained that the report had been given to all transaction advisors who had used its insights to structure the deal. “I am assured that necessary accounting provisions and adjustments have been made in the Reporting Accountants’ Report,” said the minister. Why haven't the criminal suits against the crooks (ex-CEO & CFO) been fast-tracked since this is important to the confidence in the firm? My advice is to wait till the last moment before purchasing shares in the OFS.

While at TEDGlobal I met Manuel Toscano, a gentleman who works for Emergency USA. We talked shortly about solar power being a great technology for use in remote areas. He filled me in on a hospital that was designed using the following guiding principles.
-The idea of a “hollow” space and a pavilion-based system;
-The choice of the best possible technology given the context;
-The search for an ethical language for this type of architecture.
The choice of solar power for a hospital in an oil rich country might seem a bit ironic, but there is more to this. The specific details of how the energy produced by the panels is used is particularly interesting.
Solar panel: free healthcare, free energy
The average temperature in the Sudan is 29°C, and in the hottest months it can reach 45°C. In order to cool down the hospital, a number of measures were taken during construction. In addition to this, air conditioners were installed after the building was constructed. In the first case, a series of insulating techniques were used. The external walls for example are 58 cm thick and contain an insulating cavity that prevents the building from heating up. The use of traditional cooling systems would have implied high levels of electrical energy or fossil fuel consumption (the needs in terms of volumes of air to be cooled down are hefty: 28,000 m3). In a country rich in oil resources, EMERGENCY has sought out alternative sources of clean energy: the sun. Nine containers left Italy for Khartoum with 300 solar panels, bringing to the country an almost unknown technology, and one that is very seldom used in Europe. Today a plant that contains 288 solar collecting items (for an equivalent of 900 m2, or the area of 10 houses) produces 3,600 KW- as much as burning 355 kg of gas – without producing one gram of CO2. Each collecting item is made up of a number of copper tubes that contain water; these are themselves placed in insulated glass tubes that allow the water inside the copper tubes to heat up. The water transfers the accumulated heat to an insulated 50 m3 tank that keeps the water between 80-90°C. The heat is then cooled down to 7°C in two “chilling” machines. Solar power thus allows the center to produce cold air without discharging any particles into the atmosphere, and limits the use of electric power to water circulation pumps. Two regular boilers have also been installed in case the solar power is not sufficient to run the two “chilling” machines. The cold water is used to lower the levels of heat in the rooms that need to be chilled for medical or other purposes. The machines used for this last part of the cooling circuit are called UATs (Units of Air Treatment). There are 8, each one designed for a specific area of the hospital (CPR, surgery, administration, etc). The UATs draw air from outside and “force” it into a 7°C tube that cools it down. A second system of tubes subsequently transports the cool air to various hospital rooms according to need.
In short, the surgery center is kept cool using a combination of the water from the Nile and the Solar panels. For more detail on the design guidelines of the salam center please click here [pdf]. (Thank you Manuel).
It is becoming increasingly clear that solar tech is flexible enough to allow for innovation in any field. Another example of solar being especially useful in the medical field is the ‘Hospital in a box’ invention by Dr. Seyi Oyesola, a TED Global Speaker and innovator.

Jason Pontin of TR summarized his invention as
It was a simple, portable (well, 150-pound), resilient set of medical devices that makes surgery possible even in the worst parts of the world. The hospital in a box has anesthetic equipment, a defibrillator, a burn unit, plaster-making tools, surgical tools, and an operating table.
In my post on tales of invention, i noted that the ‘Hospital in a box’ can be charged using a truck battery or a solar panel.
Note: TED fellows Dr. Chikwe Iheakweazu and Dr. Ike Anya from Nigeria started the blog ‘Nigeria Health Watch’ to discuss and bring to the fore health care issues in Nigeria and Africa in general. Do visit them and subscribe to their feed if you are in the medical field and want to be in the loop.
Back to architecture: This ted talk from Cameron Sinclair is very inspiring.

1 ½ years ago a single tremor was a big story. Now they are coming every few hours – today we felt them at 11:50a.m. 1:30p.m, 2:35p.m. and 3:05 p.m. what’s going on at Lake Natron TZ? Dud dividend Got my biggest dividend cheque ever (i.e. most digits) i.e. a 25,000 Uganda - a payoff from the Stanbic Uganda IPO. But it is almost impossible to cash it in. Stanbic Nairobi look at you like you came from outer space, while my other banks tell met it will cost more than it’s’ worth (about Kshs 1,000) to clear. Remember that next time you go buying shares in Uganda or Tanzania I wish there was a good dividend reinvestment program in place. - I may endorse it to my stockbroker even though there’s not a lot of shares I could but for that (Eveready perhaps?). Any suggestions? edit Sent in my reader Drop My Load who comments: Stanbic have issued an email that goes like this:
Dear All, A few banks have requested me to ask Stanbic Bank Kenya to come with a solution to paying the KES equivalent of the Stanbic Uganda Divident cheques. Stanbic Bank Kenya team has since gotten a solution that I would like to share with you.
Below is a statement from Stanbic Bank Kenya, which we would be grateful if you pass along to the relevant branches and clients who invested in Stanbic Bank Uganda.
" In case of non SBK customers who choose to deposit their dividend warrants in the accounts in other local banks, these banks will route the cheques through SBK for collection in the normal interbank way for foreign cheque collection
The collection period will be 14 days and we shall credit the proceeds by the 15th day. The charges will be - amounts below 1000 will cost ksh 100 and amounts above ksh 1000 will cost ksh 150."
Ask your bank, they should be able to help. Strange banking: It’s always a sensitive thing to write about banks since they have customers – some of who are likely to panic and withdraw their funds. But there’s no danger of that with fast growing and strong Equity Bank. Just days before their listing in 2006, one of their directors resigned - could this be the reason? Loan shares resurface: I&M becomes the first bank to hawk loans to buy Kenya Re IPO shares. Milk tremor: KCC has overnight raised the price of their plastic milk pouches (500 ml) from Kshs. 22 to 26 (%18). More plastic tax aftershocks?

Just a side note: while reading Christian’s latest post on knowledge sharing within companies, I just came to realize that I had instinctively used the blogosphere for gathering useful informations on my new Nokia N95 telephone.
Interesting applications, utilities and widsets? User experiences, shortcuts on the menu or tips on how to optimize battery runtime? The international blogosphere + multimedia platforms such as the popular poparchive youtube or flickr deliver all you need - without even a single search through Google.
Hopping from one blogging “node” to the next, the need for simple googleing becomes almost obsolete, as others have already compiled interesting articles such as a “TOP 10 must have N95 utilities” list.
So instead of doing a Web 1.0 search through Google on keywords such as “Nokia N95 appz”, I instantly consulted del.icio.us for anything on “N95” and received a list of quality links that would give me quick results. Whereas I always needed to check out various Yahoo!Groups in the past for an interesting file here or there (those small java applets that run on Nokia’s S40 OS-platform) or - even worse - forums that only sometimes come with a “sticky thread” where all interesting and important things are gathered in an FAQ-collection, the blogosphere delivers much more useful info on a topic. Selected, tested, rated and - most importantly - communicated to others.
And here I am now, happily runing a few selected and tested (!) applications on my new phone. This whole process of gathering informations on how to personalize my phone to my needs just took me a few hours of reading different blogs. Sweet :-)

Other important facts & numbers - Kenya Re cover only 21% of the local (Kenya) market
- 40% of its revenue is from foreign countries but mostly african countries.
- Kenya insurance penetration is still very small, at 2.6%, compared to other developing countries such as south Africa {14.6%} and India {3.7%}
- Incase of an oversubscription applicants will be allocated 100 shares in the first instance and thereafter in multiples of 100 on a pro rata basis.
- An applicant shall only apply for shares in one category only
- The shares are open to all East Africans i.e. Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
- Kenya Re will be admitted in the Main Investment Segment {MIMS} of NSE
- Kenya Re has two subsidiaries: Wedco ltd and Kenya re properties corporation ltd. these two are 100% owned and are both dormant. {???}
- While the net income increased constantly from 2002 to 2005, the net profit for 2006 declined by 48% {From Ksh.748.2 million in 2005 to Ksh.390.4 million in 2006}. This is said to be due to the tsunami and monsoon catastrophes in 2006. it is expected that profit in 2007 will grow by about 37% to Ksh.536.4 million.
- Apparently the government has been paying itself constant dividend of Ksh.150 million for the last five years. {hope this will still be the case}
- There are 4 participants In the Kenyan reinsurance industry. Namely{in order of biggest to smallest}:
o Africa Re ltd.- formerly the Organization of African Union (OAU) o Kenya Re ltd.- 100% government until now o ZEP Re ld. – 24% owned by Kenya Re o East Re ltd. – 30% first charter, 20% Jubilee Insurance, 15% IFC’s investment and the rest by Kenindia & Pan Africa. - Kenya Re enjoys 18% compulsory ceding of all treaty insurance business from all insurance companies in Kenya. It used to be 25% but was reduced in 2000 to 18%. This may soon be phased out leaving the corporation to the forces of the market
- Re’s investment portfolio:
- government securities – 22.5%,
- Equity – 23.79%,
- mortgage loans – 6.53%,
- investment properties – 34.67%,
- short term deposit – 34.67%,
- land and building held for sale – 6.58%
- I found the PWC audit report a bit unfavorable, with a statement such as: "…….not all the matters that came to our attention have been adjusted for as information was not available in some cases." They also mentioned the Ksh.36 million management fraud.
My conclusion I hold a short term buy on this IPO and one has to be very careful with the amount to invest. The minimum application of 2,000 share {Ksh.19,500} will be advisable to avoid holding up your money in refunds. One thing that stand out clearly from the prospectus is the way the AM Best review of Kenya Re, that gave them a B+ {very good perfomance}, has been has been mentioned at every possible chance.

Visiting Alaska for the first time, I was excited that we were staying at the Mt. McKinley Lodge. As we were checking in, I caught a glimpse of a mass of rock through a large picture window, and I hurried out to the deck facing the mountain. “Wow,” I murmured softly as I took in the view. A man standing a few feet away said, “Uh, . . . that ain’t it!” As I discovered that day, visitors to Alaska often miss seeing all of “The Great One.” Standing at 20,320 feet, the mountain is so tall that most of it is hidden on cloudy days. I was seeing only a part of the whole. Often we’re satisfied with our limited view of life. But Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “‘I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says the Lord, ‘thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’” With God’s omniscient, panoramic view, He sees the people He wants us to help, the things He wants us to accomplish, the character traits He wants to develop in us. Before the spectre of time fades away with the memories of my youth I have decided to share as many tales of past adventures as possible. So here goes.....
In a land far far away, there was this young lad called Chris and he had a friend called Mike and another one called John. They were a generic group of dudes who would do regular things like watching soccer games, going to the gym once in a while, drinking, clubbing and of course chasing women.
Anyway one day Mike decides one night to pick up Chris and John so they can go and paint the town red. When he meets them at the local they notice that he has a cute looking young lady with him, you see Mike liked his girls when they had just come of age before they acquired what he called "mileage."
Chris and John were used to this, so after they were introduced to Janet, they gave her a hearty welcome and continued to partake of the cheap beer at the local bar. They knew that they would get their chance to swoop in and scoop their own prey much like eagles swoop in unattended chicks in the open plains of Ukambani when they got to the expensive lounge they were going to in Westlands. In typical Kenyan fashion no-one was carded as drinks were being served and even the driver himself had a drink or two. After a few ribald tales were exchanged and jokes cracked they motley crew hopped into Mike's souped up Toyota Camry and made their way to the happening joint at the moment that was located in Central Westlands.
On exiting the car and entering the lounge, the bouncer wanted to see Janet's I.D but a 100/= note slipped into his hand seemed to distract him rather fast and they were ushered into the club. Once in the lounge the time seemed to fly as they sat at their own table, the two amigos left the happy couple canoodling as they did their lap of honor, catching up with old friends, making new friends and following up on earlier agendas.
John and Chris's plan was about to bear fruit as could be evinced by how captivated the two girls they had met at the club were with their tales and jokes they were cracking but a spanner was thrown in the gears when Mike whispered to them that they had to go. It seems that Janet was not supposed to be out at that ungodly hour. John and Chris grumbled but they remembered the old saying, bros before....; so they got hold of the girls' cell phone numbers and promised to follow up on what had began that night. They piled into the car and despite Janet's urgency, a visit to their favourite all night eatery Big City was a must; when they got there they indulged in their regular meal of somersaulting chicken (that was their nick name for rotisserie chicken since it rotated on the grill like a gymnast on the bar) and french fries. After eating to their fill, Mike sped up the highway into the leafy suburbs of Lavington where Janet lived. Mike stopped the car outside the gate of large mansion and dimmed his lights and began to exchange sweet nothings while Chris and John snoozed in the backseat of the car. The two of them were shocked out of their beer drenched dreams by a shrill voice saying, "You think I wouldn't catch up with you Janet?!"
It seemed that Janet's mother had noticed that she was not home and had decided to camp in the watchman's cubicle that was beside the gate. When she heard a car pull into the drive way, she snuck out of the side gate to see if it was Janet. Mike and Janet were so caught up in their moment that they did not notice Janet's mum's hand reaching into the open driver's window and pull the keys out of the ignition and stuff them into her nightgown pocket.
John and Chris woke up to find the couple outside the car being lectured by Janet's mother. Janet's mother lamented her daughter's descent into immorality and pulled her cell phone from her pocket and said she was going to call her husband from the main house so he could deal with them. Mike knew that Janet's father was a prominent man in society and he wasn't ready to find out what he would use his considerable connections to do to him. Before Janet's mum knew what was happening Mike had grabbed his car keys out of her pocket, jumped into the car and drove away. Everyone else who remained was in a state of shock over the current state of events. It took a second for what had happened to compute in Chris's mind but when it did he decided to do the next best thing; he ran after the car. John took cue and ran after him, Janet was seeing how she was going to face the music on her own so she pulled up the hem of her already brief skirt took off her high heels and ran after the two of them leaving Mama Janet shouting in their wake. After running round the corner of the street for a few hundred feet, half freezing, half drunk and in a state of mental chaos they found Mike sitting on his car bonnet laughing at them. Chris and John chided Mike for not telling them about plan B, but seeing as they were good friends they didn't let their unexpected drama spoil the night for them. Janet seemed worried but Mike sweet talked her and she was soon in high spirits, the got into the car and drove towards Nairobi West where they resumed drinking at one of their regular all night bars. Post script: After one week at his apartment, Mike convinced Janet to go back home; she went back home and after her parents got over their worry they grounded her for 3 months. Of course this was futile because after 1 month she found other ways of sneaking out of the house to indulge in her new passion for clubbing. Any resemblance to people or events in the life Acolyte are purely coincidental and unintentional!

I still maintain the opinion that this mama was on the end of some superstar d*ck coz she just seems like she hasn't let it go! Nothing beats a hard dreary day at the office like a video like this that makes you laugh and think at the same time. At least she had the sense not to have her mum in this video. I think instead of the vagina monologues we should have the Tylor Monologues, why don't we buy her an airplane ticket and have her perfom at the Carnivore, Phoenix Theater and KICC so as to enlighten African women? Anyway I think I have said enough, Thank God I have the day off! Let the job hunt begin!

The most effective way that I know of transporting my mind through time is by playing music in my head. The reason is because every song that I know has the ability to enable me go to a particular time and place so vividly that I remember details that I could not visualize in any other way. For example, the song Imagine Me by Kirk Franklin puts me squarely in an afternoon traffic jam in December at the Uhuru Highway roundabout near the Nairobi Railway Station and I can clearly hear myself tell my friend to listen to the short violin interval that appears in the song, doing what a beautiful necklace does to the overall looks of a well dressed woman. On the other hand, the song She’s Got The Vibe takes me back to my days as a student in the early 1990s when I was first introduced to the singer R. Kelly by a friend called Chris Mbogo. Back then the now bald R. Kelly used to have long hair shaped into the ‘box’ style that ruled the day, and I can still see that image on the cover of Chris’s cassette tape.
These two musicians - Kirk Franklin and R. Kelly are similar in a way, and yet quite different. A few years ago, they came together in a collaboration that included other music greats like Bono of U2, Crystal Lewis and Mary J. Blige to record a very inspiring song called Lean On Me. The refrain of the song says:
I am here
You don’t have to worry, I can see your tears
I’ll be there in a hurry when you call
Friends are there to catch you when you fall
Here’s my shoulder, you can lean on me
In his public image, Kirk Franklin is best known for his gospel music and also as a saved Christian. Several years ago, Kirk came out publicly to share his struggle with pornographic addiction. This bold move came in the midst of legal battles that primarily centered on the millions of dollars that came after his breakthrough success in the music industry. All in all, Kirk confesses that this was one of the darkest periods that he had to go through as a Christian and as a human being. In the song Imagine Me, he candidly says:
This song is dedicated to people like me, those that struggle with insecurities, acceptance and even self esteem, you never felt good enough, you never felt pretty enough but imagine God whispering in your ear letting you know that everything that has happened is now gone! Gone! Its’ Gone, All Gone!
In his public image, R. Kelly is best known for his ‘bump and grind’ brand of music that promotes the typical image of a booty obsessed, virile, hard partying, black male celeb. To date, if there is anything that is yet to be sang about sexual exploits, you can be sure that R. Kelly is already composing a song to make up for the oversight. R. Kelly is notorious for his lusty designs on young girls. He is best remembered for wooing and wedding the late singer with Aliyah Haughton when she was just 15, and more recently for a court case involving sexual offences on a minor. His thug image belongs to the R&B genre that is not to be confused with the firearm violence prone gangster rapper.
Once in a while, R. Kelly pops into the studio and sings phenomenally inspiring music. You might know such songs as The Storm is Over, The Worlds Greatest and I am your Angel (with Celine Dion). Personally, I consider You Saved Me – a song in which he passionately talks about the grace of God - to be the epitome of R. Kelly’s inspiring music.
It takes a lot of courage for anyone to break formation and publicly do something that conflicts with the image that he or she has cultivated over the years. When a ‘thug’ like R. Kelly records music that talks about the Love of Jesus Christ, it perhaps takes as much courage as it did Kirk Franklin to publicly talk about his addiction. Anyone who rates courage highly would consider these two musicians similar in that score.
These two artists remind us of the human nature that seeks to experience different aspects of this life. One cannot be all bad since even the worst person desires to warm his or her cold heart with the tiny flame of goodness that forever burns inside. This is in much the same way that once in a while, even the very best falls far below the score line. If life were a coin and the head and tail sides represented the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ aspect in each one of us, let us agree with ourselves that once in a while we will fail to make the correct prediction. Knowing that we still have another chance to rise up when we fall keeps us trying. Hopefully, at some point we can all join Kirk Franklin is singing the following words from the song Imagine Me:
Every Sin, Every Mistake, Every Failure
Its’ All Gone!
Depression Gone By Faith
It’s Gone!
Low Self Esteem, Halleluiah
Its Gone, All Gone, It’s Gone!
All My Scars All My Pain It’s In The Past , Its’ Yesterday
Its’ All Gone ( Can’t Believe Its’ Gone)!
What Your Mother Did, What your Father Did, Halleluiah
Its’ Gone, All Gone!

Tagged by PrettylyfThe Rules are:- 1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts. 2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves. 3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules. 4. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. 5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog. Island Spice's 8 were a great read and juicy too.Here goes, 1. I don't know how to just show up at people's houses i have to call in advance to confirm that its okay for me to come over. Its so bad that i call my folks to let them know that i will be coming over. 2. I love being alone i can spend time alone without feeling the need for company. I sometimes will go out clubbing, to the movies or even functions alone plus the ability to just make random decisions on what next without having to refer to someone else. 3. I will normally take your word for it so that i expect that when you say you will do something you will and if you cant you will let me know in advance that you cant. A little naive but that's me. 4. I pray that i get married just so that i don't grow old alone, i admire how my folks just hang out the two of the them now that the nest is empty. While at it i would rather marry my friend since i think sometimes love is not enough. 5. I love to read if i could quit my job, be a professional student and have my bills sorted i would do it. I love school and books don't think i can get enough hence my going back to school and having my doctorate at 30( God willing). 6. I already have a bad feeling about this OFS... the financial scandals involving the ex-CEO & CFO. Then the lawsuit at the last minute...
I still think it will be over-subscribed... massively over-subscribed coz of the price & very few shares on offer... but that is not what I am talking about...
It is an "Offer For Sale" not an "Initial Public Offering"...
Where is the (online) Prospectus? It should have been uploaded & available at 12.01am on 18 July 2007.

Currently all over the world, we are facing a shortage of organ donors to a point that hospitals are having long waiting lists for patients awaiting transplants. Even those whose relatives tissues match their needs, are having to wait for long before the operations can be carried out. These are the world’s stats as per blogcatalog: In Australia, more than 1,700 people are waiting for organ transplants. In Latin America, more than 50,000. In Europe and the United States, more than 170,000. In China, more than 2 million. In Africa, there isn't enough organization to really know. Without an organ transplant, these people will die. In Kenya today, those who have eye problems are now hopeful following the establishment of the eye-bank at Nairobi Hospital which is supported by Rotary Club. Its billed to be the only one of its kind in East and Central Africa. Organ and tissue donation is a very contentious issue especially where religion comes in. But also notable is the lack of cadavers to help in the study of medicine in universities. One individual who has touched the eyes of men and literally given them sight is Dr. Mukesh of Laser Eye Clinic in Nairobi. He has undertaken over 1000 eye transplants in the past two and a half decades. To say that he has touched peoples lives would be the years understatement. As the organ donation campaign goes on, we need to know that we can touch someone’s life my making a donation of our bodies or organs once we pass on. At least on that front, we will still be living though in someone else’s body. To see more of organ transplant success visit hereOrgan Donation Awareness Campaign
